In 1983, the company went public and two years later was purchased by Mildara. Burge and Wilson stayed on and continued to create their magic, which was cemented when they won the 1980 Jimmy Watson Memorial trophy with a 1979 McLaren Vale, Barossa and Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon. Burge and Wilson went their separate ways but Krondorf continued upward.
