Macedon Wine Region
The Macedon Ranges wine region has the coolest grape-growing climate of any wine region in the country. While the Ranges enjoy guaranteed summer sunshine, it is also not uncommon for light snow to blanket parts of the region during winter. As a result the region has developed a reputation for excellent sparkling wines, chardonnay and pinot noir.
With more than 40 cellar doors dotted around and between the villages of Woodend, Kyneton, Lancefield, Malmsbury and Daylesford, you're bound to come across one of the boutique wineries offering fine varietal wines.
